Joshua Ferguson
500CYT
After 20 years in the Army and losing a leg in Iraq in 2007, Joshua first came to yoga in 2017 simply looking for a workout—only to find a path to healing and balance. His practice taught him how to push through challenge while also listening to his body and knowing when to step back. He went on to earn a 200hr Hatha certification and a 300hr Ashtanga certification through the VA’s pilot yoga teacher training program, along with additional training in trauma-informed, adaptive, and mindfulness practices.

In his classes, Joshua blends military discipline with yoga’s compassion, encouraging students to honor their bodies, meet themselves where they are, and find ease within effort. He reminds students it’s okay to fall—the floor catches us all—and that it’s only yoga, so it’s always okay to laugh.
